Hackney may provide renewable energy for the Olympics

19 November 2009

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA)have proposed to install wind turbines towards the eastern side of Hackney Marshes to produce renewable energy for the 2012 Games and beyond.

Many early Green Mark adopters are from east London and this exciting possibility for green energy will support the environmental performance of the area as a whole.

As part of the Green Mark certification, organisations are encouraged to consider changing to a green energy tariff. Developments such as building wind turbines will support access to such tariffs.
