Green transport to work in London for 2010

19 October 2009

At the end of last week the Mayor of London released a statement about the increase in fares for Transport for London in 2010. Although the statement expressed reluctance about the increase the costs are significant and will be felt by the majority of TfL users.

We at Green Mark are well aware of transport issues for organisations both in terms of staff travelling to and from work and in terms of the movement of goods and services around the capital. Organisations undergoing Green Mark can choose transport as one of the five areas of focus and our consultants work closely with you to identify ways of reducing transport generated emmissions and reducing fuel costs.

Green Mark's strategic role ensures we are up to date on the latest schemes, programmes and initiatives that can support and help your organisation constantly improve environmental performance and save money.

Regarding these recent announcements about TfL fare increases we are reminding organisations of TfL's free advice and information service: 'A new way to work'. This gives companies the opportunity to approach new ways of commuting to work and the options available to support staff to make a change in their commuting behaviour. This is just one of the ways Green Mark works with companies to keep them up to date and accessing everything available to ensure their Green credentials.
